Joel Simon

I have been a part of the Strathalbyn Physio family since June 2011 where I landed soon after my post-graduate program in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy from University of South Australia. In the year 2011, I was fresh out of University and contributed to three scientific papers in the areas of Achilles Tendinopathy, Thoracic Outlet syndrome and the use of mental imagery in the sport of Archery. In the time since 2011, I pursued further learning in the neuroscience of Pain, the management of persistent low back disorders using Cognitive Functional therapy, the applications of Mindfulness using EEG Neurofeedback in Chronic Pain conditions and exploring the validity of dry needles in the management of various pain conditions.

Apart from being a practicing Titled Musculoskeletal Physio (awarded by the Australian Physio Association) since 2014, I am also a committee member for Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia (SA Branch) since 2017.

I am also committed to be a science communicator for Physiotherapy on the internet, and enjoy helping to bring the understanding of science to the general public, in a way that they can understand.  On one of these forums, Quora, my answers or comments have been read over 500,000 times, making me the highest read Physiotherapy author across that platform.

If I am not at Strathalbyn Physio you may find me with my mates playing Badminton at the Adelaide Badminton Centre or playing Dad the rest of the time!
